Nazneen Maymoun has dedicated her career to advancing the image and impact of the nursing profession – both within the healthcare sector and in the broader community. She graduated with honours from a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of Sharjah, completed her Master of Business Administration at UOWD and is currently pursuing her PhD in Health Care Management from the Hamdan Bin Mohamed University in Dubai, whilst working full-time.

Following a great career with the Ministry of Health for nearly 20 years, Nazneen has earned a reputation as an exceptional leader, focused on embedding a culture of continuous professional and strategic development. Since 2010 she has served as District Director of Nursing for the entire Sharjah Medical District overseeing the effective operation of the healthcare facilities within the district and provides leadership to more than 1,000 nursing staff.

She puts great effort into recognising and motivating nursing staff, and has organised a broad range of conferences including an acclaimed nursing leadership course, aimed at helping nurses expand their own skills for greater career satisfaction, improve patient outcomes and to recognise special achievements.

Through her forward-looking approach to human resource recruitment and retention, Nazneen has made a lasting contribution to the growth of the nursing profession in the region. She actively drives continuous improvement and is committed to ensuring the highest levels of workplace safety and environmental care.

As a strong social and community advocate, Nazneen fosters a sense of cohesion in her teams through leading participation in a broad range of events, such as the annual Pink Caravan breast cancer initiative. She works with the Emirates Volunteers Association and has been a formation member of the Emirates Nursing Association since 1999. Her exceptional contribution was recognised in 2014 when she became the first Emirati nurse to win the Emirates Women Award – Career Achievements.

Nazneen proudly represents her profession wherever she goes and is a shining role model for other women in healthcare and management. With her strength of vision, strategic focus and deep personal commitment, her impact will most certainly continue to grow.
