Executive MBA (EMBA) Women in Leadership Gender Parity Scholarship

The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) announced a new Executive MBA Women in Leadership Gender Parity Scholarship as part of its strategy to advance women’s leadership in the upper tiers of the corporate structure in the UAE.  The scholarships will be available to a selected number of eligible women in the UAE who are in middle-management positions and aspire to develop their cross-functional and strategic understanding of business, to be able to contribute to the UAE’s vision in impactful ways as part of Senior Leadership teams. 

Master of Science (Logistics) celebrates triple accreditation status

UOWD’s Master in Logistics Program (MSc) is celebrating triple accreditation status after it received accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK (CILT-UK), a global membership organisation for professionals involved in the movement of goods and people and their associated supply chains. The MSc program is already accredited by the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) and the UAE Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs. Along with numerous other benefits the accreditation will enhance professional skills and graduate employability and also serves as a pathway to CILT Chartered Membership status.

EFQM endorses UOWD’s Master of Quality Management (MQM) program

The European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), the foundation behind one of the world’s most well-known management frameworks, recently endorsed the University ‘s Master of Quality Management program (MQM). UOWD students who complete a subject Business Excellence and Quality Assurance course will receive recognition from the EFQM. In addition, the Foundation will continue to provide the ‘Internal Assessor Training’ to MQM students, leading to a certification as internal assessors. The University’s MQM is a one-of-a-kind degree program that provides new graduates as well as experienced managers with the specialised skills and knowledge of quality management as well as other management functions.

Launching our new Bachelor of Engineering programs

Supporting the UAE’s growing demand for highly skilled, innovative and talented engineers, the University announced the launch of two new undergraduate engineering programs with specialisations in Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The new programs offer prospective students the opportunity to achieve a high level of engineering and business understanding, enabling them to be at the forefront of engineering to advance innovation in the region. The programs are accredited by the Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs with additional accreditation from Engineers Australia, a member of the Washington Accord, which enables graduates to work in various countries as globally recognised professional engineers and also provide them with a gateway to become Chartered Engineers and also ensures that graduates from this course are admitted, on application, to the grade of Graduate Membership of Engineers Australia.

The new Foundation Studies Program – A gateway to an undergraduate degree

A new Foundation Studies Program (FSP) accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, has been launched by UOWD to provide prospective students the necessary key learning skills and foundational knowledge to advance to undergraduate university studies.

The Foundation Studies Program will provide a strong pathway for senior school leavers, to obtain progression to undergraduate studies at top universities in the UAE and worldwide. The program is designed to support students from a variety of high school curricula including the UAE Al-Thanawiya Al-Ammah and aims to develop a wide range of essential study skills, including Academic English Skills, Research Skills, Literacy and Numeracy skills whilst also providing subject specific knowledge necessary for successful progression to chosen degrees.
